Ideal Applications

Use Gelmar Universal Wood Stain Concentrate on interior wood surfaces such as:

• Cabinets

For best results, seal with a suitable varnish or wood sealer after staining.

Coverage

Coverage will vary depending on the wood type:

• Hardwoods: 8–10 m² per litre per coat
• Softwoods: 6–8 m² per litre per coat

Surface Preparation

Proper preparation ensures the best finish.

1. Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, wax, or grease.
2. Sand the wood thoroughly:
• Start with medium-grit sandpaper
• Finish with fine-grit sandpaper
3. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain.
4. Remove all sanding dust using a lint-free cloth or tack rag.
5. If the wood was previously finished, remove the old coating completely and return the surface to bare wood before preparing.

Application

1. Stir thoroughly before and during use.
2. Always test the stain on a small, inconspicuous area to confirm colour.
3. Apply evenly using a brush, cloth, or spray.
4. Remove excess stain with a clean cloth dampened with Gelmar Lacquer Thinners.
5. Allow 30 minutes before applying a varnish or sealer.

 Drying Times (at 23°C):

• Touch dry: ±10 minutes
• Dry to handle: ±10 minutes

When using multiple containers, premix into one container to avoid colour variation.

Cleaning

Clean brushes and tools immediately after use with Gelmar Lacquer Thinners.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
